Former Liverpool striker Divock Origi is reportedly on the verge of sealing a transfer away from AC Milan.
The Belgian has not had the best of spells since leaving Liverpool in the summer of 2022.
After running down his Liverpool contract, Origi who is considered a cult hero for his big goals in crucial moments, joined Serie A side AC Milan.
But he has failed to hit the heights he enjoyed at Anfield at the San Siro?
As a result, he has been unable to break into Milan’s first team regularly.
He was asked to go on loan to Nottingham Forest in the second half of last season but returned to Milan with his future hanging in the balance.
Presently, has been training with Milan Futuro (the reserve team) as he attempts to keep match fitness while waiting for a transfer away from the poor situation he finds himself in.
However, it seems he will finally get a move away from the club, judging from the latest report in Italy.
Divock Origi wanted by Serie A team
According to Football Italia, Serie A side Genoa is discussing a possible transfer of Origi with AC Milan.
“Milan are finally on the verge of finding new homes for forgotten former first-team players Divock Origi and Fode Ballo-Toure, as Monza are ready to invest in new reinforcements in January, the report said.
“Origi and Ballo-Toure both spent the 2023-24 season out on loan with Premier League clubs, at Nottingham Forest and Fulham, respectively, but they both struggled to impress during their time away from San Siro.
There have not been any official offers yet, but it is expected that Milan will not request any significant fees for either player.
